Help!!! oil level prob!!!

im going away tomorrow to plymouth so just making sure my car is ok, but ive checked my oil and it appearss theres none in the engine at all!!!!! the think is the temps ok and it dosent sound like its about to blow up!

ive put about a litre in but it still didnt read on the dipstick, even tho i cant find any signs off a leak!!

any ideas dont want to put more oil in just incase my dipstick is at fault!!!

Has been known for the dipstick to be too short but i thought that was the earlier models....

Have you checked the oil before and was it showing ok on the dipstick?

If so, you are either losing oil or burning it.

If it checked out ok before, keep topping up a little at a time until you get a level.

Or you're simply not seeing where the level is as you've added nice new clean oil.

the dipsticks also have that nasty tendancy to wipe themselves off as you pull them out. flip it over and see if thers oil on the other side. If ther was no oil at all in it the light would come on and ur car will have died a while ago. unless thers a pool of oil under ur car right now.
