Please can someone help me solve my problem? 2 days ago my main beam has stopped working, also when I put the main beam on the wipers & heater fan stops working? The sidelights work ok and the car runs fine. The garage cannot fir me in until next week so I was hoping I could have a go at resolving the issue myself. I have checked all fuses & reseated cables.

Re: Re: Help No Lights!

Sounds like a bad earth. Could be tricky to find. Check/reseat the connectors to the bulbs, and try to find where the headlamps are earthed on the body. Then clean/remake these connections.

Lights

Well, i had a big problem with my lights whereby my sidelights were working ok but my main beams were intermittant! I found it was a connection on the rear of the fusebox on one of the 5 pin connectors. The connection had became poor because the person who had fitted the fogs had fitted them at the wrong place on the light relay. This was sending too much current down the leads and caused melting (and the problem.)
Check the connections on the back of the fusebox.
Might help?!

Re: Lights

try leaving the lights switched on, whilst having someone watch them at the front. then jiggle some of the wiring. if your lights come on, you are moving the defective wire or connection.

this method always worked for me.

Re: Re: Lights

Headlamp earth is the culprit.

No idea where it is though - around the (interor) front of your grille would be a good starting point.
