Technical help needed

hiya everyone
please can anyone give me some advise
just purchased a 1996 fiat coupe 16v turbo

got a slight oil leak drivers side near tyre i think it is coming from the oil cooler

not sure if i can just tighten the hoses or if it needs a new oil cooler.

hope someone can advise as it is ruining my bloke paveing.

Right, remove the undertray if your car has one, and check the metal pipes that feed the oil cooler, they are easy to spot. They are notorious for corroding and leaking. If there is bad corrosion you'd have to get a new cooler. There's been a lot of engines going pop because the pipes leak out all the oil as you are travelling unawares.

New cooler and pipes for the 20VT are approx £220-ish, plus fitting. I guess the 16v version will be similar, if not the same. Have you tried Alternative Autos for a price?
