Thanks

did it start ok before the belt was done ?????
The motor ran well until the day it would not start freezing belt slip problem as the timinmg was out I was told, that's why the belt etc was changed but motor still did not start or fire, turns over very fast so the mobile mechanic mentioned the compression seems low as its turning over fast and he needs to do a valve check on the head as he thinks I have bent some valves.

it has bent valves has the timing is out
head off job new valves head back on poss new belt should be ok it will cost a bit
Hi All just an update, MHome got taken into a garage, I asked them to check everything that had been done by the mechanic, they did and the timing was 1 tooth out,
I cant get me head around how this damage could happen just trying to start the motor on the drive unless there is a under lying problem.
Anyway has any body, had or knows of any such problems like this as I would like to get to the root cause so it doe's not happen again.

Thanks Guys for your comments and thanks Charlie for yours I hope the MOT goes smooth it should do with only just over 16 K on the clock, fingers crossed no more starting problems. However expensive it is I will keep the forum updated as I don't want anyone having the same hassle or expense as me. Call out mechanic, Diagnostic test, New starter motor, New camshaft sensor, New Timing Belt kit, Pick to take to garage, Engine out, Head off and sent away and then what ever next.
