Not sure as to how true it is but if i remember right dvd headunits are built with a handbrake position sensor type thing so you can only watch dvd while your handbrake is on, to reduce your likely hood of being distracted. The way round it is to put in an aftermarket switch to make the head unit believe the hand brake is on.
