Hi All
I don't post much, but I read lots. I need some help with my Mjet sporting. It was suffering from the the alloy wheel corrosion that seems to plague a lot of GP's, along with 1 very unround alloy (which we swapped to the back!). I had been on about buying new alloys for ages when my partner saw some that looked semi decent in the sale and bought me them, so we had 4 new PNero's on, new set of 5 spoke alloys (which don't look that bad on actually), all tracked and balanced and set off to Newmarket on Friday - got to the M62 and it happened - when you go above 45 it feels like you are on a vibro plate (think 80's rubber band round your waste thing that your mum used to stand on in front of the tv and watch corrie convinced it would wobble the weight off!) the car shudders, shimmys and shakes like a cheap lap dancer!

I also need a set of centre caps for my alloys, but I have no idea who made them, he doesn't know either and I have searched every alloy site on the web to see if theres a pic so I can see who made them to no avail. The closest I got was a Zafira going the other way in traffic which seemed to have the same ones ob as mine & they did come with a vauxhall sticker on the back, though I doubt they are Vauxhall ones as the shop didn't sell brand specific. Theynumpty in the shop has no clue either as I have been back to ask. Are there any generic ones available or can I just buy a set based on the size of the centre?

Any help would be most apprecated.

Hi, the same happened to my friends KIA on our roadtrip to cornwall... Ha...... Anyway while driving he clipped a kurb quite badly.

By doing this whenever he reached say 50mph his car shuck vilently. The steering wheel was hard to stay hold of. When taking it to a garage the steelie which clipped the kurb was in fact bent therefore creating huge offset vibration into the steering column and the rest of the car.

As a quick fix we also moved the wheel to the back, It dramatically stopped the vibration but the steelie was unbalanced and kept pulling to the right.

Not sure what it could be though as your alloys are brand new, balanced and tracked, have you checked for damage around the area which the "unround" original alloy came from? Some damage round there could lead to vibration.

Hope this helps a little, not sure if it will though lol

As for the centre caps I have no idea (y)

Spiggot rings are 5.6cm - Think I have solved the problem though, when I took the wheel off (well when I paid the nice man at the garage to take it off!!), one of the spiggots had disintegrated (dodgy plastic things), so the wheel was resting on the bolts, have replaced it now and things seem to be going fine - fingers X

However I still need some centre caps which I think are going to be about 6cm in diameter.
