Hi Folks
Recently been having problems locking my 1997 Fiat Ducato passenger cab door. It is a manual locking door with key. However it wouldn't slam properly so it wouldn't lock properly the lock kept springing up as soon as you lifted the handle.
Well yesterday despite the cold weather, I removed the door panel and removed the locking mechanism, the rods, the key barrel and cleaned it all up, removed the build up of old grease, dirt etc. And put it all back together.
And it all works great, except I can't remember which way the rod from the lock unit to the internal catch/handle goes. Can't remember if the rod connects from inside the door, and pokes through hole to connect to the handle or sits on the surface just under the thin insulation layer.
As I know the internal opening handle just clips on the surface with 2 clips and a screw, no recess. The door panel goes over and the handle surround clips on last.
If anyone has any photo's or pictures to help me or can shine some light on this for me, I would really appreciate your help.
