did you ever finish or get to race this engine did it last the season
im going to attempt one a 1108 for class4 autograss and run bike carbs i was going to attempt class 2 but a cinq cant be used cause of being originally being injection so ill go balls out for class 4 thinkin of cbr600 carb setup custom manifold bit of head work cam uno distributor lightened flywheel balanced conrods modified sump thats pretty much it if anyone has better ideas (carb setup maybe different to cbr600) or anything else feel free to enlighten us
thanks(y)

dont forget EFI. a decent engine management is a must... even for a mildly tuned engine.

Definitely! I could advise u to take a look on the new Megasquirt V3 with the MS3X expansion. Still best ecu, value for money wise, I have found till today. Saving some money myself to upgrade my V2 to it :D It allows you to add a camshaft sensor, so you can have a full sequential injection which will allow you to gain the full potential from a machined head, racing cam and other mods! No more fuel puddles at the intake valves  Also it can digitally control full nitrous injection and flat shift. Some guys are programming full control for water/meth injection too (y) I think its in it standard already btw

And there are loads of other awesome stuff it can do too, haha ;)
Here a link of the features: http://www.ms3efi.com/product.html
Keep us updated! :D

there are no real restrictions original 1108 block head whatever mods is free or carbouration exhaust etc free you can bore slightly im told you cant bore much from these engines though i suppose the plans would be a rebuild balance lightened flywheel get the head tricked a bit (has anyone done something similar are big valves a possibility what might fit) a race cam custom manifold cbr 600 carbs uno distributor (not too pushed on injection system too complictated especially if there was probs on a race meeting) a modified sump with baffles and a breather just as much rpm and power as possible are they good for such punishment
whats the most can be squeezed from it
thanks in advance

If anything, carbs are more complicated than fuel injection. You'll have to do the ignition electronically anyway (megajolt, etc.) unless you want to revert back to clockwork. And carbs tend to loose you mid range.

People say that 100bhp isn't to difficult from the 1108 in race trim. Look to the F750 people for ideas. They run carbs, but only because they have to.
