help needed! (insurance)

i am getting my 07 grande punto on tuesday next week, so got it all insured for the day of pick up, ECT

so i ask if the policy would change if i tinted the windows and was told that it would invalidate my insurance, because direct line do not insure cars for people under the age of 25 that has been modified!

does any one know if they would actually invalidate my insurance if i did crash and did have my windows tinted?

this has really annoyed me!

technically you should declare your tints to the insurance firm, however this is up to you. i assume that many people dont!

It's completely daft but them's the rules. I wouldn't risk it for the sake of tints.

I think fitting cheapo tyres should invalidate your insurance but

i wont be putting them on, even tho i have never crashed or needed my insurance! it would just be my look that on the way back from the window tints some nutter smashes my back end or something! oh well i guess that i will have to wait about 6 years before i can have my tints!

Wrong.
Anything that alters the way the car was as it rolled out of the factory is a modification.
i.e. painting your wheel nuts.

Just depends how picky they wish to be.

yes i have this problem with insurance if you are under 25 they think you should drive a little 1.1 fiesta base model with no style or credability i was declined insurance by asda beacuse i said i had optinal wheels still manufactors wheels but not on my model!!!!!!!!!!!! now i tell them everything and they just charge me more and more

they would not even let me pay extra! i mean it sucks, just for some tints, seems a bit foolish! and i get discounts with direct line because of the multi car discounts they give! oh well!!! standard here i come!

yea! they wont pay out! or so they told me on the phone when i insured my new GP... direct line will not insure any one under the age of 25 that has made mods to there car.... even tinted windows!
