3 and 5 door headlamps are a sightly different shape. They will physically fit, but there will be gaps.

If the beam is not correct this could be true, but if beam pattern is correct they should be ok.
Are the bulbs fitted and seated within the units correctly? As this not being the case can cause the beam to project here there and everywhere.

Should be manually, but sounds like motors have failed if not electronically (and I think this is tested for now iirc).
Replacements car be purchased and fitted fairly easily, loads of info in the Stilo section
Nope, only the motor which adjusts the beam level, which is sited within the headlamp housing
You need to find out whether it's the electric or mechanical adjustment that isn't working.
Assuming you don't have original HID Xenon headlamps, the electrical adjustment is done via the headlamp adjusting switches on the MODE panel at the right of the dashboard.
Mechanical adjustment on both HID Xenon and normal filament bulb headlamps is done by 2 white nylon adjuster screws on the back of each headlamp. These screw often seize but can usually be freed off.
