Help! How do you use the tape player?

Hi

I've just bought a 98 1.6 16v SX Bravo and had a play around with all the toys but I can't for the life of me work out how to open the middle section of the radio to insert a cassette (well, an mp3 player cassette plug-in).

Stupid question I know, but I figured I might find an answer here

I'm sure there is a button next to it or something, I can't really remember, mine was ripped out about a day after I got the car.

press the centre bit mate i think anyway, i never had one in my others and this ones a button at the side.

If you mean the plastic that covers the casetteslot, push it on the center on the top (towards the player) it will raise up with springs.
Atleast the one on scrappy did so as mine has this missing too. Afaik the place youre supposed to push has some markings like

there is a slider button on the top next to the oppening you slide it towards the tape slot

The big round button on the left marked OPEN EJECT, when pushed, should open the cassette cover and (when you manage to get one in) eject the cassette.

Thanks all for your help. Turns out the previous owners broke the opening mechanism inside, but managed to jam the cover back in place. I've managed to get the cover off and re-attached it in its open position.

Its only a temporary fix, but looks ok and at least now I can use my mp3 player.

Nope... i still dont get it. A tape deck? is that a new technology i've not heard about? I thought i was old fashined because my cars dvd/mp3 player in my car can still play those cd things that were all the rage at the end of the 90's. HEHE.
