Help!... funny noise!

I have a 1997P Bravo 1.8 HLX

Over the last couple of days i've been hearing a funny noise coming from towards the engine bay area.

Its a low rumbling/vibrating noise that is only noticable once you get above 40-50mph.

The car seems to drive and feel as normal and power is fine.

When I dip the clutch (at high speed) the noise continues so it definitely appears to be speed related not revs-related.

I don't think its anything with the exhaust.

Wheel bearing perhaps?

The car is in full working order but it is due a service. (9 months and 12,000m since the last one)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys

Would sound like a wheel bearing to me.

Jack the car up and try to wobble the wheel. If you feel any movement it would indicate the bearing.

However, have you checked the pad friction material on the brake pads, they may be a bit on the low side and scoring your disc.

Like Steve said, check your brake pads, and do the noise go any louder when you are in a curwe ?
