ok so i got me self a fiat seicento few weeks ago and it had dont nothing but grint grown and squeal. turns out it was the alternator an i have had this replaced to the tune of £120 ncluding fitting by the roadside. the thing is the daft fuuker never changed the belt when he changed the alternator. thus the belt snapps on me today. stranded for an hour until i got towed. but it not been this simples. when to get towing eye isnt 1 .well it must be with the jack........ isnt 1 there must be a tyre iron........ was there fek. so was towed home 3 miles ish with a ratchet strap round me wish bone. presumed it was going to be a easy fix but there is a sensor that look like going to be in the way not only this but there water boiled over and its all rust. got a few question

which is the best way to attack changing the fan belt and what do i need to do

who to get rid of the rusty water (coolent) just take rad hose off and then top up with water and antifreeze presuming there isnt any anti freeze in it as it rusty.

is the fan belt an easy fix for a novice with a vast socket set and alan keys  lol any help would be great thanks

please please please dont say that i was starting to like the little girl just a car to get me from a t b for work so she just a mobile ashtray. if this is the case mite get shot once fan belt is sorted

well i have managed to get the front wheel off the innner wheel arch slacken off the alternator take the alankey bolt from the top of 1 of the 2 bolts out of the sensor to allow me to remove the sensor but the bottom bolt wich it more of a screw possy head will not budge had the mole grips on it and a screw driver just pops out any adivse on how to get this stubborn bolt/screw out i would take the fly wheel /crank wheel/ what ever its call but i haven got a socket or spanner big enough . there is teeth running the perimiter of the wheel bar about 2/3inch but this still isnt enough clearens to get the belt in why didnt fiat make it deep enough to get a belt in , so any advice on getting this screw out is apreiciate note i dont have accsess to any tourches only got me fag lighter lol

just seen this..,

easiest way..??,
if it's the 1100cc FIRE engine,

as you've got the wheel off...,
undo @ 4 screws / swing plastic guard out of way to see the crank pulley,
panda maint dec 13 088.jpg
undo the 3 a 13mm headed bolts, - maybe put it in gear 1st,
remove the 3 bolts,
this pulley will now come away..complete with belt,
panda maint dec 13 081.jpg
beware there is a tiny metal "pip" and a corresponding hole.. that sets the engine timing..put it back the same..!!,
