Hi there, can anyone help me. I've purchase some blaupunkt leads off of bluespot.com to plug in the back of the blaupunkt CD/radio which comes standard with a stilo. By doing this I now have a pre-out amp connection and a remote lead connection.

I have connected the pre-out leads up to the amp using the some RCD cables and the remote to the remote on the amp (obvisiouly!). However, the radio is now displaying TMC on the screen and I can work out why this is doing this! In this mode, it allows me to set the base, treble, fade etc but no sound is coming out of the subs.

It seems the pre-out is in fact a kinda AUX in and seems to want an input, instead of providing me with an output.

Have I wired up the amp and subs wrong, or purchased the wrong leads? Can anyone please help?!

From the sounds of it you have only put the remote and pre outs sockets into the amp, so now you need a power cable from the battery to the amp. I did the same and got the tmc thing, but ive been told now that the amp needs a powerline. Im gonna get round to doing that soon so ill let you know.

if it helps - i found that the lighter socket in teh boot is only on when the ignition is on..don't know if you have tried it with the key turned.

I had a look behind the hook for any loose wires in my Abarth, but couldn't find any... :(
Needless to say, my amp and sub from my previous car is still lying in my garage. :bang:

I've got the same problem as above, but can't find any solution on the internet. So is there anyone who solved this problem or is the only option to use another radio or a high to low converter? Please Help!!!!!?????

hiya chromegrey i notice from your pics you only have the red power lead where did you run the earth to ?

hi,

His message is from 2005 so i don't think he still has the problem. But is do. I only want to know iw its possible to use a amplifier on the standard radio. I buyed a converter from blaupunkt but now i get the TMC message on the display so i think something's wrong.....

im not sure i can help with your prob but will tell you how i fitted the amp to my abarth if its any use to you ! firstly i cut the speaker wires from the rear of the unit and soldered in a low input convertor (it changes the normal speaker wire to rca output) then wire in the power cables from the battery you dont need to run the earth to the battery as this sometimes causes interferance so keep earth as short as possible to the amp then you need to wire in the remote switching wire mine was wired to the switched power to the head unit find this with a voltage tester by turning ignition on & off whilst checking wires finally run your wires into boot connect up and hey presto you should be in buisness (y)
