HI
can any one help me i have a 1996 bravo 1.8hlx done 63000. just had cambelt done and when fired up started first time brilliant.switched engine off then started again but this time it would just turn over without starting.after a few turns of the key it fired up ok running lovely.every now and again it's a pig to start.when it does startup,no problems run lovely.previos to having cambelt done it was running great but i needed to change it as i was usure if it had been done(i'm glad ihad it done cos the original one was cracking). by the way tensioner was done as well.

Does the key light go out?
did you change plugs, leads, oil, filters ?

The problems is to do with the timing belt you've just had fitted, its a notch or so out, hence causing the car not to start properly.

Take it back and asked them to do it again.

99.9% sure it'll sort it.

1.8 16v hlx any idea were the cam sensor is and what to do
with it ? oil/filter plugs, air filter all changed.

Its under one of the cam pulleys, and it will need replacing if its damaged.

Had the same problem on my Bravo, took afew goes to start, then it seemed to be ok once started.

Before cambelt change it started first time as always. Found to be mis aligned belt.
