I have the Barchetta logo badge on the back of my B and no fiat badge on the front, you should see how many people drive past and look at the front of the car to see what it is.
The bumper arrived and it's crap, so just ordered a new one from Fiat so will send this one back to germany. I'm so F**KED OFF, thought I was going to have it back by Thursday but by this rate it will be end of summer :bang: :bang:
The Fiat one will arrive thurs/fri at the latest and is about £370 inc vat as I get 15%.
The one from Germany was just crap and made of fibreglass, the inside panel was very flimsy the indicators & foglamps wouldn't line up and when i put the lights in there was gaps on one side and bits sticking out on the other.
There obviously made in a mould by the seller but not very well made at all. I tried to cut costs but have probably wasted about £90 in postage & 2 weeks waiting for nothing.
Ill give it a go I'll try anything once it has contact adhesive strips built in for the cross spars so just need to see how difficult it's going to be for the seals.
I got it from germany and although its not mohair it is a very strong fabric (well I hope it is ) It was only 330 euro's inc postage so about £220 which is pretty cheap. You can choose any colour and the price stays the same.
Well at long last I've got a brand new original fiat bumper £378
Arrived this afternoon will be preped & painted tomorrow but may not be fitted till Sat but probably Mon depending if the paint is hard enough. the bumper is 1000% better than the self made thing from germany and is so much better made. THE EXTRA FEW QUID IS DEFINATELY WORTH IT.
OK a few teething troubles, failed the MOT today on emissions so extreemly f**ked off, and the front looks OK but MOT bloke told me to have a closer look at the side and looking closely the finish it's crap so it will go back once the MOT is sorted :bang:
Anyway the front is OK but needs a little bit of tweeking with the slight gaps
Got it on the road today so all MOT'd n Taxed. it's been insured from the day I bought it.
Anyway.....had about half an hour of open top motoring then it pi$$ed down and has since but got through 1/4-1/2 tank of fuel messin about and I love it. There is still a few niggles to sort and I may have a bearing on the way as there is a very slight rumble that I didn't hear with the top down but can just make it out with the roof up.
I've always had two cars on the road at once but never three so there is a first time for everything
Send in your experiences and I will make it a feature on Mondo
Little tip on the bearing front if you need to change it.
If you have ABS the bearing part has been updated so it will not look like the old one that you will take off the car. When you order the part from Fiat, make sure you tell them its the ABS you are after (and keep telling them ABS ABS ABS) as you cant tell when you pick up the part. I had a nightmare last year with my local Fiat dealer about this and ended up being given the wrong type. After fitting it I find out the ABS light came on, Thus making me have 2take it off again. After 4 days I got the correct one so the car was out of action all that time :bang:
