General Hello.

I'm normally in the panda section, but have just put a deposit down on a 54 plate Jan 05 barchetta. I'm hopefully collecting it next week from a dealers in Darby.

They took the price from 9995 to 8995 and gave very low rate finance after putting a few K down in cash.

It's in standard trim with 8000 miles on the clock (my newest car in a loooong time)

So just thought i would pop in & say hello.

I've been looking for a while for a barchetta or an alfa spider but after seeing a red one at the belfast meet decided on the barchetta. I was then planning to buy a 97/98 model but when I saw the add fell for it :yum: . There is also quite a few issues so thought if I got a relatively new one could keep it mint for many years to come.

So the final decision was on a whim & haven't seen or driven it yet other than the dealer pics, must be loosing the plot :nutter:

Even the No plate said YES

It seems I now have 2, anyone got a silver bumper for the 97 model or want to buy a damaged repairable for £1600

no unfortunately i was out of the country so my barchetta and seicento werent there.
yea it is quite quiet round here as there isnt too many of us but when you post you should find the info very good.

Needs a bumper, probably a hood & a little bit of bodywork.

I recon about £500 to restore the damage..

I won't be scrapping/breaking it

Good stuff, i thought maybe it was in worse condition and had bought for spares rather than repair.

It does not look like it needs much work to get it looking like new You can find a few bumpers on ebay.de at the mo, just make sure you can pay with paypal, Banks charge loads.

Post some pics when its finished.

I picked it up last night.

Ok here she is, meet my new Barchetta.....

In a funny type of turn it looks like I may not be getting the other one as they are starting to give crazy finance prices, so may just keep this one

She's already in the body shop to get started and as she will stay with me she's getting a full front & offside painted. Just need to source the bumper now as all the lights are there.

Can't have you taking all the best LHD cars Gina and not changing sections just adding to them

I wasn't so sure about the wheels but I quite like them and think they suit the car the polished alloy is a good contrast

It's getting there, new bumper should arrive this week, as should the new burgandy roof. The front damage has been repaired & looking good

They never sorted the finance? but to be honest I'm quite happy about that as I have bought this one with cash so no extra running costs.

I think the burgandy looks better than the black, plus the roof has to be changed anyway the window is split in 3 places but other small rips along the bottom & side. So whilst replacing may as well get whatever colour i want.

Now you have had the front painted get the special stone chip protective stick on film (I dont know what the product name is) as this will keep the front paintwork in mint condition for a lot longer. I had my front painted 2 get shot of the fiat badge about 9 months ago now and already I have some stone marks. Doc Orange Peel

To be honest they flatened the front so didn't have to put the badge back but before I could shout de-badge they had re drilled the recess hole mind with the back badgeless I'm waiting for all the questions of "what is it?"
