Hello, I'm new and have a 2014 500S 1.2 which causes me no end of problems. Currently I've got a rear wiper which comes on itself, and now the dreaded flashing odometer problem and a fault code that says it needs Proxi Alignment. So I'm really hoping someone can help me - looks like @theoneandonly is near me. Does anyone know why this would suddenly happen? I've not changed the head unit or done anything related, it just suddenly started flashing and B&M doesn't work. My other half read the fault codes with a generic reader and it says it's got a Proxi Alignment fault code but we can't do the alignment with the generic reader...

The failing B&M module is the cause of the required proxi alignment, which one of the symptoms is the blinking mileage.
Proxi alignment is the procedure which scans the modules connected to the CAN network and make them being discovered by the car. If the car can't see a module anymore, it says it needs the proxi alignment.
There are lots of threads on the B&M module, some just remove it and live without
Remember to backup the current proxi setup just in case. It's a simple procedure which makes a small text file. Luckily @theoneandonly knows the procedure

Rear wiper issue suggests your rear tailgate-to-body wiring section also needs attention (individual wires chafe/break and cause shorts etc). Well known issue and fixable with an aftermarket flexible wiring section (via e.g. eBay).

I am probably the nearest with MES Duston 5 mins off jucn 16 M1 or 15min to Daventry. PM me and I'll sort out the proxi alignment if you remove the B&M module. A PM is on way look for Envelope at top ribbon
