Hello, I am new here. I am looking for a little car for my kids to drive in around locally and I fell in love with the Panda.

So I am off to see one tomorrow. I have seen a few, some good and some not so good. I have just found this forum which looks friendly and fun.

I like the prices on the Eco Active, but it doesn't have remote central locking. Is it easy/cheap to add it later? Car is a 2010 yellow one.

Any comments on which Panda would be the best to buy (up to 5k a year, mostly short journeys, kids of 18 and 16 and a £2k budget) would be great! And ideas/costs on my Remote C/L question would be much appreciated. Thanks
:)

Oh rallycinq, you grumpy old bugger :p

Remote C/L is not an easy retrofit, so better to look for one with it if it's something you definitely want. That said, for a first car, why not make them use the key in the lock like back in't'day? It's not a massive hardship! Plus if it's the only downpoint to the car you like, it's hardly a deal breaker.

I went to see car today. Nice genuine little car, other than the crunch at the front with the replacement bumper that hadn't been mentioned!

I was worried about dark car parks, late at night for a young lady, fumbling the keys, rather than open and go... But as you say, they should be happy with the fact that they have a 1/3 share of such a nice motor!

I will continue looking ... Panda almost today, but not quite...

Do remember that some remotes locking systems open all 4 doors simultaneously. That is almost more dangerous than having to open one door.
Later systems have one push for drivers door, second push for other doors/boot.
