Right as titled, what happens is my heater at first runs fine n hot when i want it to only when the car is being driven though. I have noticed this the faster i drive the car the heater blows hotter. but when im on a stant still for more than a minute, it starts blowing cold even when i have put it on the red (hot). Anyone experience this?
Any possible solutions?
It's damn freezing in the morinings when i have to go uni for my 9'o clock lectures!!!
Some one please help me!

yes sounds more than likely an air lock.
Can be quite tricky to bleed the bravo's cooling system as it has 3 bleed screws ( i think )

i think theres one on one of the pipes to the right of the engine, and one on one of the pipes to the left, and then one on the left hand side at the top of the radiator!

Cheers for that fellas.
Will give it a try tomorrow.
If I don't succeed, Im booked for a cambelt replacement sometime next week, I'll just tell em to sort it out for me!

Thanks again, I feel much better knowing the problem know.

What engine is it mate
cos there is a guide for doing it on a 1.6 on this site

It;s a 1.2. Oh yeh, I was gonna ask how to go abouts doing this?
Do I leave the engine running and unscrew the screws or loosen them?
Does air/pressure or water come out out of the screws?
How do I now I have bled the cooling system?

? ? ?

radiator bleed screw 1st, heater inlet hose 2nd, heater oulet hose 3rd

Sorry mate.

Completely lost their.

Bit more detail please!

IF its got air in the system you need to fix the problem that is allowing air in.

There are 3 bleed screws,Radiator, Inlet hose and outlet hose for heater. Open the heater valve. With the engine running, open the screw on the radiator until water comes out, close the screw, then repeat with the other 2 screws.heater inlet first. sometimes have to do it more than once if air is still present.

To add, the screws need to be opened when the engine isnt running, put the heating knob on hot (dont need if you have climate control), start the car, rew it to 3000rpm every 10 sec to get it hot. During the heating up process keep the expansion tank cap open and do not let the coolant fall under min. When the car is warmed up till the fan kicks in, close the expansion tank cap and your done.

Better still follow the guide, it was written by someone who knows what they are doing ;)

Any 1 tell me how they look like. I just took a look and i saw a black screw right the top of the engine bay, is that one of them???

Quite lost on how to do it, but i really would like to do it myself.

Anyone with pics showing where the screws are would be a great help!

1.2 Bravo

they are different places on mk1 and mk 2. usually at the back of the engine where the heater hoses enter th car, they are on stalks on the heater hoses. on mine the radiator screw is on the left of the radiator near the top of the inside

ok. so i've seen 1 corectly rght at the top of the engine bay. on the assenger side. can't see the other 2

should be one in a similar position on the drivers side and then one on top of the radiator
