Hi, was wondering someone could help. Removed centre console as per guide hoping to replace heater fan switch. When I tried to replace it I found the cable to short and couldn't find away of releasing it, any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Heater fan switch

Hi mate,

You can remove the switch panel above (with electric window switches, hazard lights, City steering etc) to give you a bit more access.

Hope that helps,
Alan

Re: Heater fan switch

Thanks a1ant I will give it a go when new switch arrives. I got the white whole plastic console, is there any way to remove the old one? found the four screws and 2 clips but couldn't slide it out. Thinking about it would rather just replace the switch.

Ahhhh.... i made the mistake of the heater fan switch removal.....

Either it'll pull out as you pull the switch out
OR
you need to use some small hook and tease it off

Getting it back on is a pita.... it doesnt fir easily as the cable is somewhat quiet short.....

Allen keys between wires on the plug - pull allen keys as you connect switch

Ziggy

Thanks ziggy I'll give that method ago and report back when part arrives.

Turned out onlyto be 15 min job. Small electrical screw driver down one side of the switch plug and levered it out a bit then when I pressed the retaining clip it popped half way out on it's own. I then managed to release the cable out far enough to sit on the outer casing pushedthe switch and heard the reassuring click job done.

Thanks for input.
