Headunit

Headunit

Depending on your car's year, you may need a fascia adapter to install your new headunit.

You should be able to find what you need on our website: www.ktduk.com

The Sony stereo you're looking at will probably retail at around £70+

If you want a headunit with CD and an input for connecting an iPod or another portable device I would look towards the Blaupunkt San Remo. We currently have this listed on our website here - http://ktduk.com/site/product.cfm?id=D1DABB77-AB75-60C0-4C7E97EB4039ED3F

The good thing about Blaupunkt is that your can always expand your system. You may want to add an amp or sub later on, and in some cases you would need to change your headunit to do so. But with the likes of the San Remo, everything is catered for.

Drop us a line, or send me an email and I'll be happy to work towards your requirements. :)

Yeah i do need a new facia but i can get that for under £10
The sony one i found for just under £60 so i dont mind paying that but i dont really wana pay £79.99

Anyone know if i would have problems with the sony GT310 if adding an amp etc.

Thanks

It depends on what amp you are looking to install because most 4 channels need two sets of RCA Inputs and that head unit only gives out one set. If your not looking to built a particularly large system you can always buy something called an RCA Splitter which, would split the 1 RCA into 2 but it would only give half the voltage. The lower the voltage the lower quality signal is sent, but in a lot of applications this would be virtually undetectable.
I would suggest that you look at the deals they have on caraudiosecurity.com before you buy anything.
If you are looking to expand in any way look for a headunit with two sets of RCA Preouts at-least.

Right i looked around and have found these, please tell me whether it will all work and whether its a good choice or not. (caraudiosecurity is cheaper on ebay than on their actual website lol)

I would save up your money for say sumthing like this

They have loads of specials here

None of the stuff you have shown on your last post look bad at all. I believe that those speakers are very good value for money but they really need to be run off of an amp to get any real use for them.
It seems that you want to build a system so you should save up and buy a bit better quality. I have always found it easier and cheaper in the long run because if you but too cheap now then youll prob just want to change it in the future.
What punto do you have then i could say a little more about fitment.

Cheers m8.
I got a 2001 mk2. Not sure if i need any speaker pods etc.

Nice, thanks

Btw is there any point replacing the back speakers or just leaving them standard?

K thanks guys.

Ill think ill go for the sony headunit and the infinity speakers.
That sub that i posted the link for, does anyone know if its any good or does it seem a bit too cheap?

the mutant sub seems to be better than the alpine as its rated at 200wrms as apposed to 150wrms kenwood. you havent mentioned an amp in any posts above but i would say the amp is a godd amp for a small set up. Personally i dont like mutant(heard too many stories) i'd rather stick with good uality jap audio eg kenwood, alpine etc. I prefer Alpine TBH the quality you get is amazing and you can pick up some good quality second hand stuff on ebay!

That mutant sub came with the amp i think didnt it. For the money you cant go too wrong for just a little bit more though you could get one of the JBL anniversary Sub amp Packages. See below.
http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/6708.html
That will come with a 4 channel amp so you can power your components and the sub and i used to have that package with the two channel amp and for that kind of money it was absolutely brilliant. I think that if you compared the two you would be very dissapointed if you went for mutant.
If you went the Jbl rout you also have more scope for expansion because once you have the Ice bug you cant stop improving on your system.

I do agree with Tipoboy but i wouldnt really buy second hand from an unreliable scource especially not for your first system there are to many ways that the stuff could be faulty and if it is you probably would jus think that your setting it up wrong.

Another small thing to note is that it is always better to buy from a proper dealer than someone selling old stock from there Garage as you have more chance of returning faulty stuff. If you do buy online (as we all do) look to see if they have there own website and they sell a large variety of things this is always a good indicator of a good dealer.
