Headunit qs

i took out the standard blaupunkt headunit to find 2 wire boxes, a black one (power and speakers i guess) and another, blue, green and yellow box. what is this?

also i plugged in my new headunit and it makes noises like its powering up then nothing happens and it wont turn on, any ideas??

also i may buy a new headunit, looking for one to run my sub, under 60 quid really, any suggestions?

just had a look around the forum and can see that ive got to play around with the wiring to get the headunit to turn on. But i dont really understand how to do this. is there an adaptor that will?

That lead you posted is so you can get your steering wheel controls to work your h/unit.
Please be aware that if your car has a cambus, there will be no ignition live, as the cambus controls this.
The green, yellow and blue molex connectors are for cd changer phone aux in/out blue and me,steering wheel control.

I can't be sure if this is the right lead or not.
you might just have to get it and see

ye the lead worked, havent got my new hu yet so cant get steering cintrols working. but turns on and off with ignition, hasnt run batery dead
