Headunit help please..

Well, i fitted a new headunit recently....i connected the wiring loom from the car to the new connection loom that was supplied with the HU, i just connected it as it was (i.e. didnt change any wires around etc..), it plays fine and im impressed with the sound, but when i turn the ignition off, IT goes off, and is pretty annoying, as the standard fiat stereo stayed on. Is that something to do with the wiring or is there something ive missed?? Question is...how do i wire it up so that the HU stays on when the inition is off. thnx.

What HU ?

There should be two wires on the loom of the HU.
One is for constant power, and one for ignition.
They should be connected together ( on the permanent live wire of the car)

Or swapped. I prefer to swap them round so the radio always turns off when i turn the ignition off
