General Headlights and Wipers

Hi,

Someone i work with has a problem with there marea.
The way i understand it that sometimes if he turns the headlights on, the winderscreen wipers automaticly come on with them, but only after it's been raining or is damp outside. and it doesn't happen all the time. Eventually the wipers stop, and everything is fine for a while.

He's checked fuses etc for dampness, but to no avail.

Anyone got any ideas before he goes to an autoelectrician?

I was going to say dodgy stalks but they're on different sides of the steering column.
