Technical Headlight lens

Having just bought a new 2nd hand headlight the blue thing covering one of the sidelights is now floating around said headlight.
Does the lens of the headlight come off or is it stuck on, looks like it might but thought i might ask here first.

I think the clear plastic cover on the front of the lamp will come off by removing the metal clips and heating around the edge to release the adhesive. I've not done it yet but will need to soon to open my spare HID headlamps.

the OEM headlights dont play nice like the dayline ones did....when i opened the OEM ones i had to carefully cut the plastic at the join....i tried heat, but it just ended up melting the plastic a bit and the glue stayed strong
