Technical Headlight connection plug

Having mounted a replacement headlight I found that the plug would not go on. While there was seven connection spades on both original and the replacement, they were arranged differently and the plug shape detail is slightly different along with the colour : original is white and replacement is purple. Does anyone know of an adapter or work around? Cheers, H.

Yep they changed the connections 05.08.2009

I suspect they cut and spliced the connectors over

As getting the harness out is next to impossible
