General Heading for ebay

This is like confession time and there seems to be a common theme surfacing.
I have 3 Pandas but one of them is at Verns..... I'm not alone am I.?
Who else has a vehicle parked at Panda HQ..?
Fess up............

What a good idea (y) I've got 2 pandas outside the house but I lost the garage the Sisley was in so maybe I need to send it to panda HQ :D

After much deliberation I've decided to pass on this :(

Mainly because I feel I should get GerTie on the road and I don't want to divert attention away from the project by taking on another.

There will be other 4x4's - just not this one just now.

I know there is another forum member interested in taking this on though, I'm sure they will own up once it's sorted out. Oh and they were'nt at the Panday ;)

The other forum member was me, but sadly I'm going to have to pass too. I fancied getting a "pure" 4x4 back on the road but unfortunately the car needs a bit more sill welding than I can do. A great basis for a project or resto though and well worth taking on if more proficient at welding (or know someone who is). Very fair price too. Thanks Andy (@andyholli) for going to view when in area, and to Martin for making the time and giving us the chance. Please someone else from here take it on, it's worth it.

Hi All - been lurking here for a while now (from 500 section;)).

How readily available are the majority of parts required to put this back on the road. Doors and panels are presumably common across contemporary 2WD Pandas, but what about exhausts, radiators etc? Presumably a new s/s exhaust could be sourced relatively easily? Just wondering as it's just around the corner from me.......

First, the bad news. Doors are a bone of rusty contention... -- and silly prices therefore get asked from them. They are around: but it usually means a poor Panda has had to be sacrificed to provide them. Mk1 doors seem easier to source.... (n)

Mechanically, though -- and I recommend you have a look through the suppliers sticky... -- exhausts, radiators, etc. are easy and pretty cheap: although I'm not so sure if it's worth sourcing a stainless steel exhaust.... As long as you check for 'handedness', there are lots of suppliers in Italy, still (xunil20 on eBay.it being a regular one...); and OEM parts are readily available from dealers (boo, hiss), and the likes of Big Mick at Eurocarcare (huzzah). (y)

I may have three of the blummin' things (I love them all dearly, really...); but have only been a Panda trainer for a few months... -- so some of the (lot) more experienced crew will be along shortly...! :worship:

I hope this helps! It would be nice to have another local nutter, er, forum member, in the classic Panda asylum, er, section...! :slayer:

PS: You're not far from me, I guess (I live in a small village between Stratford and Banbury...) -- so PM me if you need any help (which will be more spiritual than physical, I'm afraid, for reasons that will become readily apparent...). :)

The fuel tank for the 4x4 seems to be the only part made of unobtainium. The rest takes only patience, skill or money. Yes exhausts are easy enough still. Just watch the parts on Ebay - lots are 4x4 specific and it's not always clear what's been listed!

Apart from that it's all good (y)

Hi homeward, thanks for your offer, which is much appreciated, however unfortunately a couple of major appliance malfunctions have put the kybosh on this weekend's plans (both from a time and financial perspective). So I'm going to have to put plans on hold. I'm also kind of sniffing about deals on a brand new 4x4 TA at the moment, but don't tell anyone else in this section, as I don't want to offend them;)! BTW, I have to say how impressed I am with the friendliness and helpfulness of this section of the forum - not at all like the 'bear-pit' that the 500 section must seem like to some newbies:rolleyes:.

Totally understand. (y)

The "major appliance malfunctions" around here are usually Panda-related. I hope yours aren't too serious....

And don't worry about the 4x4. The TA is a superb engine (in Mk4 Panda form, it's what got me on this forum in the first place... -- but that's a very long and boring story...). Also: Palio's mum has one... -- and it is admittedly gorgeous...! (He may also be able to point you in the direction of a sizable discount....) :D

And I have to agree with your comment on the 500 section. It's in total contrast to here (and we're just as idiotic -- but friendly -- in person, as well...); and, to be honest, to the Mk2 Punto section -- which has developed into another helpful place to hang out...! :)

Well, I went to look at this yesterday and unfortunately it's too far gone for me to take on, well to have to pay someone else to do the work anyway. It does require a lot of welding (from what I could see anyway). But it's all there - barring the plastic moulding on the replacement drivers door, and it starts and runs so I'm sure that someone who can do the work themselves will be able to put it right. So thanks to Martin (the seller) for showing me the car, he's a very knowledgeable and honest seller, and I'm sure that when it does go to ebay he'll get his £300+ for it.
