Simon Cowell on Top Gear (talking about the Multipla): it looks like the car's got a disease!

I am not so sure that Simon Cowell is in place to determine style - but the Multipla was so ugly they had to tone it down.

Form over Function works, but when its so far biased in one direction is just plain wrong

I rate anyone that drives one though - it takes some guts. I personally would rather drive a Pink 500, or Micra CC i.e. I wouldn't.

But when you're inside you don't see the outside, plus there's a crapload of room which is what you want.

Are some of you X Factor rejects? :D
So had he been Giorgio Armani (clothes) or Nicky Clarke (hair) his opinion of a Multipla would have then had more value? Errrrrr.... what?

Don't care who he is how he wears his trousers and hair, the fact of the matter is that imo what is said at the time was hilarious:
When I see one of these I effectively keep thinking of a platform of a car........ with a massive wart on top!

Since when does Simon Cowell have taste?
That's missing the point. He made a witty and funny quip, that is all.
Now one could also argue that because he hasn't got taste in music, hair and trousers doesn't mean he hasn't got taste in cars, can't see why both would be related anyway.
I've seen badly dressed people entering very nice car before, and vice versa.

Please draw me a list of personalities sort of entitled to say "it looks like the car's got a disease!" and those who shouldn't be.
Also remember what Quentin Wilson, Tiff Needel, Clarkson and May look like and dress like, should they also not talk about cars' looks then?

Was watching Steve Jobs presenting the IPad yesterday, the man looks like a first class geek (not talking about his health but about his dress sense) and yet his products look quite good to me. See? ;)

That's because you have no idea. The iPad is just a big iPhone without the phone. Steve could launch a turd with an Apple badge and the Apple faithful would lap it up :)

I shall totally agree with you on that one, I'm not into new tech at all. Do not own anything Apple, never have and so far not even remotely tempted to. I just think they look slick (in particular the Mac laptops or whatever they're called) so of all people I'd never guess a geeky looking lad like Jobs would be the Apple boss if I was to see him for the first time.

So, we were saying, head winning over heart - help!, no? :D

Sorry if I seemed rude :) Just hate Apple stuff basically and find it funny that people still buy into the Apple thing. Anyone enough talk of my Apple hatred :)

I Like Apple products. Working on an iMac right now. However the iPad seems a bit pointless, like an iPhone for the visually impaired. When they bring out the inevitably more powerful version will it be called the Maxi iPad?

I'd have to change my username to avoid confusion :p If someone like an iMac I can understand that because it's like a PC but a Mac and it does what a PC does but this?

i LOVE apple stuff...they make things you didnt know you needed, then make you WANT them!

slick, stylish and functional-

there is a thread on a car mag (car online)running at the moment - discussing the fact that the car industry has a good deal to learn from apple and the like in generating EXCITEMENT about products/innovation again.

fiats marketing/product design has been very successful similarly with the 500...BMW the mini et al- creating a buzz/getting ppl to pay more for pure desirability etc...

but surely lacking in innovation...the toyota IQ being more 'innovative' but again pricey...

anyhoo- we're WAY off topic here now..
