Yaris is a fun drive in T-Sport form... loadsa smiles, not too fugly, bit girlie but reliable & cheap now too.

Although its not really a "Sport" in the true sense of the word... but then neither are some Sporting Fiats....

Re the petrol cap issue. I had this problem as well – once spent 10 mins in the garage trying to put it back in.

Recently a guy filling up opposite rushed over and asked if I could help him put on his fuel cap! I told him I didn't know how to do it either (I'd only just got mine back on by chance) but I had a go and managed to get his back on eventually.

But now finally I think I've sussed it – you have to hold the main bit of the cap in place while you turn the key, so it doesn't keep twirling around as you turn. Seems to work for me anyway! :)

yep that's how it works :)

the interior IS cool...if you like 70s sofas!:D

70s sofas are very cool :p

I don't think of that when I see it though;

It looks a bit bland, but not 70s sofa style.

Is it wrong that I want my 500 seats re-trimmed in sandy brown leather? I reckon it would look great.

think low running costs, build quality, desirabilty, exceptional resale values, high equipment levels, economy etc etc...none of which are emotional factors!!!

and from the heart?...you will never stop looking at it lovingly, i get excited when i see other 500s even tho i now have one, and every time i drive it its an occassion![/QUOTE]

Absolutely agree
Basically, it's a "look back" car. My old Alfa 145 Junior was the same - you lock it, walk away, and yes, you just have to have a wee look back to appreciate the style! :)

Ive got a Fabia... I love it, its an estate and it rides nice and holds the road well and its made well too. Best of all it was cheap like Fiats used to be:) Has a rattly airbag lid though.

The cube looks very cool, the interior is 80s sofa not 70s though. I prefer the original cube mind.
How about the new Kia Venga? Looks kind of groovy. I wouldnt touch the C3, itll fall apart like they all do.
Right now if I was going to buy a cool car that was well made and reliable and I didnt need the space my Fabia has... Id be handing over £11295 to Fiat Supasaver for a Panda Cross 4x4:)

Funny thing is, the one car that I bought that hasnt had ANY issues from delivery right through nearly 1 year and 8000 miles is the little Pug 107 I got for my wife. It leads a hard life and is just great. I guess thats cos its a Toyota underneath!!!

I'm part-exing my 107 for a 500 and I have to say it's a great little car.

Totally realiable, cheap to run and nothing has needed replacing yet except for the odd tyre.

I'm hoping I get the same from the 500, but as my heart rules my head, like everyone, I'll be prepared to put up with quite a bit for my gorgeous new car. (y)

Barry, glad to hear that. Hope to see you in one or the other at the next meet. (y)

This is something from the twilight zone :p 2 years ago I was the one saying that Peugeot's were good and that the 500 was overpriced and overrated and you were the one giving me infractions :p:shrug::D

Ok no worries then, there's a 50+ strong Abarth convoy going to Duxford on Sunday, bit of a coincidence! Keep an eye out for 'em! :) I can't make it :(
Meh, not really bothered. Not trying to cause trouble but I'm not THAT bothered about some 500 t-jets and some GP t-jets :) I like the idea of meeting Mark, Rob and anyone else who turns up though :)

Fair enough, but there are some special cars going too, not just T-jets! (Assetto Corse for one) Again, i think it's more to do with people meeting rather than cars etc, but i'm not going anyway so i'll never know...

With all due respect I've seen far better cars than the Assetto Corse :) I've sat in a GroupA Subaru Impreza which Colin drove and on the same day I've been metres from an Aston Martin DBR9 while they've been doing demonstration pitstops and I've spent my life going to rallies and seeing lots of interesting and expensive machinery going flat chat through forests, over jumps etc

Even had my hands on an Impreza WRC :p

So you'll excuse me if I don't cream my pants over an Assetto Corse :)
