Technical head unit upgrade

anybody upgraded the blue and me equipped headunit
reception on my standard headunit is a bit poor so looking to go for a DAB unit,but want all steering wheel controls to work and not have any canbus issues

you need:

double din adapter
double din headunit from pioneer or alpine
wiring adapter with steering wheel controls
> all available on amazon/ebay

get rid of the old headunit and the blue&me box that's in the glovebox.

I'm personally starting to be annoyed by blue&me random craziness, thinking of buying an mp3 box which replaces the blue&me and offer aux in, usb and sd card mp3 playback with steering wheel buttons. it's also very cheap.

I've removed my origional head unit, and the B&M ECU (leaving me a nice discreet place to stow my iPod Classic).

I've a top end Pioneer headunit fitted, all steering wheel controls work with the exception of the Microsoft and Phone buttons which is understandable

Not looked back since doing it.

its all about what you're willing to do without. If you're one of those who always use the steering wheel buttons to make calls and youll just have to deal with it. If media is your thing just go with a new unit.

I'm seriously starting to consider changing. I've had my bravo a week now, radio reception is useless and navigating through music on the instrument display is annoying.

Lol, the version in my Punto Evo was so much easier to use with the Tomtom. It also seems to change albums every time I turn the car off meaning I have to go through the menus every time I get in the bloody thing!:bang:
I've been looking at double din units, any recommendations on decent facia adaptors? It would be nice to have it look reasonably stock.
