My Porter and my Autodata CD both say tighten head bolts 30Nm, then two stages of 90deg for the 1108 engine

How come then, for the Punto 1108 engine, its a stage of 20Nm, then 30Nm, then 2 x 90deg, I thought it was the same engine?

I was looking at my torque wrench, and it only starts at 40Nm

Thanks

Yeah, as said, the additional step helps. It reduces the risk of warping, or tightening part of the head first. Often gasket kits come with other different instructions lol

You could do a 5,10, 15,20,25,30 sequence if you liked as long as you do the two 90 degree turns.

Also if you put a tourqe wrench on a bolt after its been tightened properly, its at a high torque. Those two 90 degree turns do a fair bit :)

Good man! :)

Always thinking of others, and the forum!!

The guide is nearly fully written, been writing it as I go along when I get back to my pc to view and sort the pics, just that final bit to do as I mentioned earlier..
