Good evening all,

Recently I posted that the 'Fly' was struggling with an irregular temp range, well after completing the work that had been suggested, the head went this afternoon.(n) Now I did a HG change two years ago on the 'Fly' with a mass of support from the Forum (thank you), have I been unlucky for this to go again? I have some questions before I tackle the task in hand so please bear with me:(y)

1 Can the same head be skimmed multiple times?
2 Does anyone know of a trusted engineering firm that can skim, crack test and pressure test as the company I used previously has gone some what downhill.
3 If the answer to number 1 above is no, where can I source a replacement reconditioned head?
4 Who are the best suppliers for HG kits including gaskets, bolts and such like.

I want to do this again as binning the car is not an option, we love it to much, and need all service bits and bobs to be adequate for the job (for peace of mind). Is there any thing else I need to consider before starting regarding the fact that this was only done two years ago.

Many thanks

1. Yes, it can be skimmed up to some point.

As you can see thera are some marks, two above intake valve cyl 2 and 3, two below exh valve cyl. 1 and 4.
Cyl 1 mark on my head is gone by now ( second skimming ).

2. I can arrange your head to be skimmed ( 0.3-0.5 of mm ) by the same place and same 40years CNC experience guy who done mine, but no crack test or presure test facility unfortunately.
Both ways postage + skimming on your cost.

3. no need for now.
4. Partsworld on ebay does do full sets for fair prise.
