Technical Have power steering checked

I have a 2008 FIAT Grande Punto, and when I start the car, the message "Have power steering checked" appears along with the power steering warning light. However, as soon as I turn the steering wheel slightly in either direction, the message and warning light disappear.

This issue has been happening for almost a year. I’ve never noticed anything unusual with the steering while driving, and the message only shows up occasionally, never while the car is in motion.

What can this be?

On my Ducato it was a steering angle sensor. Cleared the fault and hasn’t come back yet.

You need to read the ECU code and see what it says really.
