You should know by now that Abarth are "pretending" they are an extra special brand and charging prices accordingly (hence 695 price tag!)

In all seriousness, parts will be priced fairly similarly, but labour rates will vary i would think.
Here's an interesting idea. Go to a Fiat dealer and if any parts are different, supply them yourself and don't pay for the pleasure of having a scorpion on your invoice.

Mine's going to Abarth anyway as i have £200 off my next bill. Plus the dealer has a few "mistakes" they made that they need to iron out too (such as crushed side skirts due to not adjusting he ramps properly! :()

It's nice to see that having a scorpion on the invoice guarantees the quality of the work done on your car :ROFLMAO:

Seriously if you want a Fiat stamp in the service book, next time take your car to Slaters or whatever the dealers name in Wrexham is..... and if someone wants to quibble over Fiat stamps vs scorpion stamps come resale time then punch the waste of oxygen in the face and tell them to go and look at someone elses car (y)

I couldn't care what's on the invoice tbh, i don't even have an A500 service book. For some reason the launch editions came with an AGP one. I was going to get it done at my local Ford garage, but they weren't interested.

The reason i had it serviced at Abarth last time was because i was going there anyway because there were other problems with the car. And this time, it's no different, see the pattern emerging?

I guess, if it were me I'd just get it done somewhere cheaper (or negotiate the price down as I've done) or just go to a Fiat dealer for servicing and abarth for warranty repairs.

Interesting - spoke to both Glyn Hopkins and they said 36,000

Brake fluid is hydroscopic (think thats how you spell it) so I would go by time rather than miles.

Anyone can service a arbath, just can't do warranty work however because of poor dealer locations (well lack off) I know owners who buy stuff themselves and get local garages to carry out work rather than travel long distance to abarth dealer.

It's actually hygroscopic :)

Basically what T means is that over time the brake fluid absorbs water and becomes less effective at doing its job. So brake fluid changes are done by time rather than mileage.

This is true. Walk into a shop to buy a leotard and with one wrong letter you might get your throat ripped out by a massive spotted big cat.

Of course you would probably need to be in a zoo shop rather than just an ordinary sports shop for anyone who might be considering buying a leotard and having second thoughts.

Robin, you are such a scaremomger, lol.

Just paid £200 for low mileage first service for Punto Abarth, a bit more than Fiat but I guess its to be expected. Very pleased with the service overall. It was done in Thames, Slough and got courtesy car charged for only one day even I had it for 4 (due to some warranty work and them not having parts in stock)

Mel, is the radiator OK now?

Wowsers!

Have been doing a little bit of homework this morning as we have a baby on the way in November and have insurance renewal/second service as well to contend with, so trying (in vain) to do some maths here.

I have just obtained two quotes from Fiat dealers (who I will keep anonymous for now) based on our car which is a 1.2 Pop with aircon which will have approx 20k by the time servicing comes.

I specifically asked for the 18k service stated in the service book but on the basis that the brake fluid and sparks would be changed as well.

Garage A quoted me £449.49!!!:eek::eek:!!!! This consisted of 3.5 hours labour @ £324.45 and £125.04 for parts (all including VAT).

Garage B quoted me £185 for exactly the same (again incl. VAT).

Where the hell does that difference come from?
