this is a good idea that can work peacefully etc not just in theory along side other clubs etc the thing thats stoping it is the cliques getting worried that we r going to steal members n new 1

that WILL/ WONT BE ALLOWED TO never happen FF actively supports the clubs etc and will always do so

let stop being heated and this can be worked out v easy

i never noticed that this thread got heated, just people expressing there opinions

the only real people who can work it out is none of us lot but the owners/co-ords of the clubs themselves

Gaz is right - the spirit of co-operation could work for both the forum and the owners clubs and benefit both. One doesn't have to lose out because of the other if people are considerate. I was considering doing some forum promotional work at events this year with the assistance of other members who now shall remain unnamed, but maybe that's now not such a good idea!

whats be happerning whilst ive been gone? i see lots of long posts, cant be bothered to read them.

just like to say when i talk to cento owners i menshion ff and say there is a link on there to join club cento. i think people who are well into there centos would join a club what ever happens about a ff banner. will the banner have the mascot on it?

Jezuz, this is a long thread, and I must admin I'm not entirely with it, so probably missed quite a lot of important points :D

I don't know how car shows work, so this "get on stand for free" thing I'm not sure of, do you have to pay for stand space at an event? In which case, surely this fee would be passed onto the cars on it? (so not free?)

My main question though, when I read through this time and time again is:

Do the people who not want FF to have a stand, believe FF should not advertise at all? By saying "having a free stand will take members away from a car club", surely you wouldn't want FF to even exist? - or is the issue purely with the "getting enough cars on a stand at a show?"

?

As far as I know, with other sites I belong to, there is a charge for each car on the stand, never seen any for free.

This was a point I could not understand. If a stand cannot get enough cars with out FF there, us being there is going to make no difference to them at all.

No i think they were saying it's hard enough to get enough cars for their stand, if there was a way to avoid paying AND get on a stand, then they are worried members might do this.

Saying that though, I would have thought a FF stand would work in the way - only one of each model, as in a fiat range :) .... so at most, a club might lose one car.... (how big are these stands anyway?)

Hey Ben

From My understanding they are Scarred of the FF Poaching posible/current members so to speak But FF actively encourages support of the clubs etc ( so we are not trying to get in way of clubs) Sammi's main point was that FF is not just for cent/Sei/Cinq owners there are a good few that are not a member of a club as no club exisists or the do not wish to join the one there is. A FF banner as such would give these ppl an identity. Ppl seem to be scarred also of having the choice ie which stand FF or club Well im sure FF would say club as we actively support and promote them but it also gives the option if the club turn out is v v small ie only few cars am sure they could join with FF and would still be able to promote club

The number of cars on a stand vary from show to show, but each seem to give a maximum number that you can have,

Steve

yes dave, i am one of them

ben a stand is free to have, but you have to apply for the space - but the people displaying on it need to pay an amount, this is just like the enterance fee that shows will normally charge you

as steve rightly says the stand space varies from show to show, you will only know how much you have once the application has been accepted

c now i like that idea....

and personally i dont c the problem with havin a stand? we are a community, like a club, and the advertising would b good!

and i am sure there are loads of people on here who would b going to events and arent on a club stand that would like to put their car forward for the FF stand!

however i dont kno enough about how that sort of thing works to give a proper input, but i think it would b cool to get our name out there!

the only problem with your plan dave would be the person who will be showing will need to know as all monies would need to be sent off for the event months in advance and people may need the time off work

another thing would be at some events like donny a modified car show, some models would miss out as they will not be modified

all cars should be considered though as its a fiat forum and all fiats should be involved
