has any got reception probs with their radio? how to improve

hi my radio on my mk2
is of poor reception on some stations

this is becasue im outsie
on my odl car i use to pick up my local station with ease

not my local station soudns distorted??

any way to improve it
what can i be and how can it be fixed?
