General Hand throttle cable

My hand throttle handle under the dash has come off the cable .
Can anyone tell me how the handle is actually attached to the cable.?
Is the cable just looped around the tiny hole on the end of the handle?

If I remember correctly (thats less reliable these days,!) it passes through the hole, bent back on itself before a small ferrule is slide over retaining the two sections of wire before the wire is bend back on itself to retain the ferrule.
