Graphics Card Power Issue

Hi guys,

so last night i built up a new(well new to my brother) computer he won on ebay.

Q6600 running at 3.4 (unclocked until we get upgraded heatsink)
Asus Republic of Gamers Mobo
4GB Ram
and then used stuff we had in his other computer and what else we had in storage until hes got some more dough.
Nvidia 7900GS
HDD etc

Anyways ive installed the above Graphics card and it needs a 6 Pin Power Cable to be connected to it. Now the issue is the powersupply doesnt come with any 6 pin connection.

How do i get around this? will it be a new PSU?

Struggled to find a pin converter for some reason but finally found one

just check what Amps the PSU supports on the 12v rail, cant remeber what the 7900 needs but it must be a fair bit, had one of them converters on my 8800, ended up killing the card, they work as a temp measure but would advise using them, PSU now with PCI-E power can be picked up for about £13 from scan funily enough

Never had any problem with the converters myself (nvidia 6800GT, ATI HD5770), but at £13 new PSU is cheap peace of mind

Dont think id pay £13 for a PSU. Id have to spend a decent amount on a PSU tbh. Plus id want a modular one if i was to upgrade, same with my bro

Modular is nice, if you have the pennies. Myself, I'm still running the 600w unbranded unit I bought on ebay about 5 years ago for the grand price of £15. Never had any issues at all. Price is not necessarily reflective of quality
