Hi all.
I have owned my orange T-Jet since December 2012. It was purchased with 30,000 miles on the clock and recently at 34,000 miles I decided to give it an engine service.
All went well (including removal/refitting of oil filter!!!).
I refilled the engine with 2.6 litres of oil, as stated in the owners manual. This was also the figure quoted by my local factors who supplied the parts.
I have now run it for a week without any problem.
However, there is one thing that does concern me.
When checking the oil level (on level ground with a cold engine), the level on the dipstick only just reaches the bottom of the flat section of the dipstick. This is, I understand, the 'minimum' mark. According to my manual, to reach the 'maximum' level would need another 1 litre of oil, giving a sump capacity of 3.6 litres
Anybody knows whats going on here? I have filled the engine with the correct (?) amount, but the dipstick shows too little!
Any ideas please? Thanks.
