Technical Grande Punto Excess Radiator Temperature and Headlights Staying on Problem

I'm having this problem and it's driving me mad. Before I buy a new battery is there anymore FIXES for this fault.

I also have the headlights staying on (dip beam when the switch on the stalk is in the off position.
