Has anyone experienced a rubbing shriek noise from the auxiliary belt on their 8 valve Grande Punto?
My 2008 1400 8v with almost 60k has done it a couple of times, and today I noticed that it looks as if the auxiliary belt has rubbed on the top metal part of the tensioner- see photo.
The belt seems to be in good condition and has a good tension although it's about 10 years old and has done about 35k.
Apart from the odd couple of shrieks the belt seems to be running fine and the AC and alternator are working correctly.
Any advice greatfully received.
