Technical Grande Punto 1.3 jtd weird problem

Hello,
Today when trying to start de car, it just died i think.
I was starting the car normally, the engine didnt start, now all dashboard light are off, radio too, the contact does nothing, and when i get the key off, something in the engine compartment is ticking non stop. If i hold the key on II position the ticking stops.
I had to get the battery off to get the ticking to stop, cant close the car, cant open the back etc
If someone had this problem or knows what can be done, pls help

Battery to body ground wire failure?

Well i didnt have time to check, had to leave with the other car, but its that ticking that is weird, its like an blocked starter.
You think it could be an corroded wire.?

Poor electrical flow..

Power to the solenoid ( the click)
Not enough to crank the motor

Ok, thank you for your answers, i will check tomorow for corosions on ground wires, i will be back if i solve this

... It was the battery, was dead, although strange symptoms
