Hi all,
Ive just got a sub and amp which needs phono inputs, only theres not phono output on the standard head unit. There are however ports that are unused.
My question is can I get a plug for the ports that'll give me some phono outputs or do I just have to forkout for a new head unit?

Also you can get a sub fitted by fiat as an audio upgrade where does that plug in?

Any help much appreciated

You dnt have to buy a new headunit

i dont know what port things you're talking about but i doubt it.

You can get a line level converter which you connect to the speaker wire, and it converts it into RCA (phono) outputs(y) type it in on ebay.

The quality isnt as high, but solves the problem of being able to keep the standard headunit and run a sub and amp

I would seriously consider buying a new HU if you want a good sound as line level conversion will never have anywhere near as much quality as the RCA (as you call phono) low level from a good aftermarket HU.

They just tap off of the rear speakers and then sent as line level (not low level RCA) to the sub amp hence why they sound crap and blow at the drop of a hat.

Hi I was just looking at this I found out what the pins do and I was going to ask is it low level (rca). lol
I cant afford a new HU yet so a £3.50 convertor 'll 'ave to do for now, i'll have to see how it sounds.

Thanks though(y)
Ste.
