Who drives along stroking there dash though? Cant say the dash being a "hard" plastic has really lowered my quality of life lol

Its cheap and nasty, but looks good so gets away with it.

Put it up with the new corsa/new fiesta/new clio and it does feel like a shanty town interior (well my active did, but the sportings/eleganza's atleast look snazzier). Doesnt bother me but no doubt will put some snobs off.

Disagree... The clio we have at work is nastier, it a new shape one but a lower model, with loads of hard plastic, rattles and no soft touch in sight. I know higher models do have it though. The new Fiesta looks 'cosmeticly' pleasing, but lower down the plastics are not great especially on the back doors its nasty. Im not saying the GP is lovely, it also has a lot of hard plastic to. Although I do have the Elegenza which does look nicer. The Corsa uses the same plastics as the GP, sit in one and look at the plastic used on the doors, etc etc its the same as the GP, it just has less and obviously aspheticaly pleasing soft touch hear and their.

hi guys new here what i found on this picture differant is this light that i maked in red to me it looks like a repeater to which i think looks funny where they put it
It's a funny place to put a light – I think it's an indicator. I can't think of any other similar car that has lights in the front bumpers like that.

I don't think they are DRL's.

From other spy shots it looks like the fog & reversing lights at the back have also changed.

Here are more photos of the same car... Interesting changes at the rear too...

Unfortunately, the badge will put the snobs off

Hmm so the odd light isnt round its rectangular, im starting to like it. quite like the positioning and style of the new rear fogs too.

A wasted effort.

It doesn't address any of the main criticisms of current model, i.e.

  1. decent cup-holders
  2. wider door pockets for bottles of water etc.
  3. Proper ashtray, I find the current one HUGELY impractical
Hope this time round they remembered to fit a light bulb in the glove-box, oh, also hope they made the glove-box large enough to hold the car's manual at least!

I cannot understand why is it so difficult for Fiat to address those simple issues. The Tipo was hugely practical, I really miss its glovebox! The Punto mk1 and mk2 had a proper ashtray and plenty of space for cans of pop or bottles of water.

Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy spending time in my car, I like the interior a lot, but can't help thinking that it would only take minimal effort to make it more 'habitable' in there, for sure.

Fiat does not have to study the opposition in terms of practicality, although a good look at the Yaris would not go amiss. All they simply have to do, is to study the Tipo/Tempra and the previous Puntos to get things done proper this time round. Hope somebody from Fiat reads this thread...

You cant see the door pockets so how can you tell there size?

The centre console shape has changed and again you cant see that much detail so how do you know they arent bigger?

Ashtray? Dont want one dont need one tbh.

GP interior is heads and shoulders above mk1 and 2 puntos in every way possible.

When are these facelifted models due out?

Oh and the ash tray thing, enjoy your smoking because I suspect its going to be banned whilst driving soon much like in Cyprus ;-) Since most people dont smoke it makes sense not to bother with it although I must admit my Mk2 puntos ashtray makes a nice change holder.

I doubt the lower lights in the bumper are indicators or even DRLS as this picture I found seems to do with out them...

The lights are a very recent addition to "mules" seen in the wild, presumably because they didn't need as much external testing as things like a new shaped grill. It's possible that all "Punto Evo"s will have the new-style extra lights.

The photo shows that the two front cup-holders are gone, so perhaps there are bigger ones elsewhere. Likewise, as the ash-tray sat in one of the cup-holders, presumably there's a new one somewhere...

I agree though that it'd be nice if the Punto Evo had better storage.

On the new lights in the bumper...

These are almost definitely the new location for the front indicators. You can see a reddish/orange-y colour inside them, and if you look at the headlights, where the indicators were, there were three optical channels to bend the light to the side. These have now gone, and there's no obvious orange bulb.

At the back, it's harder to tell what's going on. Besides the light housing seemingly turning transparent (rather than red/orange/pink), the reverse light appears to be double the width it once was. Can't see the fog light?

Also, the blue/red dot on the Punto badge is now all chrome.

Anyone else notice anything else new or different?

In another forum, it's claimed the rear lights will have LEDs, as shown...

TBF looking at it, it did look like a bit of mongrel the lights, wheels and lower half of front bumper did look very much current gen...

seems that there is going to be a large dispute for the rear lights. i think that orders are to come for those, just like the abarths.
