General GP MPG - What are YOU getting?

Just got my brand new GP 1.3 MJ 75bhp, and got 62.7mpg (using the onboard computer) on the way to my girlfriends the other day on a jouney about 25 miles. Was quite amused as the official combined is 62.8! Do need to get a long term average and check when filling up though.
Not bad considering it had only done 230 miles (delivery mileage) and was the first trip i did, I was driving like a granny though.

I hope my experience with the car is better than my last car, a 1995 Peugeot 1.5d, as it was just a nightmare. :D

Also, how long would be recommended for allowing the engine to wear in before using the throttle a little bit more agressively?

I've had my Abarth Grande Punto for a week and put just over 700 miles on it.

The first tankful averaged 34mpg, the second 30 and the third 36 so far.

I've been taking it easy so far, running it in gently, more or less. I did see 11.2mpg on the computer the other night with a trip average of 27.8 mpg.

As long as I get around 30mpg it won't be too bad.

11mpg!? Is that average or on the instant consumption? I've had 11 on the instant in 1st gear once :p

my first tank gave me a return of roughly 42mpg, 190ish miles on 20 pound in my 1.4 series 2 dynamic, this should get even better as the car is not even run in yet

It seems remaps don't improve economy as much as you think. After reading a previous post I thought I'd check out the accuracy of the onboard mpg calculator.

Over the last 1000 miles or so it says I've averaged 44mpg, where as I've actually averaged 42mpg based on the fuel that's gone in my tank.

Still happy with 42mpg on the short runs I do though. :)

Ive got a 1.2 8V GP and my usual average is 38mpg when its a mixture of motorway/urban driving, but i can obtain 43mpg on urban alone?

Im quite confused? I seem to get high 20's low 30's when doing 70 on a motorway but when doing 40 i can get high 40s/low 50s?

I thought motorway driving was supposed to be more economical? which is annoying me at the moment since Im driving each day during summer to work on the motorway

I have an 1.2 8V and my avarage mpg is 35 (mostly driving in city). But i noticed if i drive around 80 km/h i get 68-65 mpg...;)

it depends what fuel I use. I'm a firm believer that supermarket fuel is c*ap. If i'm using v power diesel I get around 51mpg comined (car only started to get this mpg after 15000 miles, normal shell diesel 43-44 and tesco 40. When on tesco fuel I find the car sluggish and smokey therefore have to push the car more to get the same performance. I can never believe the diference in the figures!

56 GP 1.2/8v Active 5dr 29.8K miles ... from 27K to 29.8K (Apr09-Jun09) achieving 53 (+/-2) mpg on 95RON ASDA(Conoco).

Q. What is the source of this "c*ap" supermarket fuel?

about 43pmg normal driving, if i floor it and thrash it about it goes down to 34.1 to 34.9
