GP Alarm

GP Alarm

Yeah, and mine keeps going off in the wind lol

The reason I ask is that my window was smashed in the other night and the alarm did not go off. Thieving ba%*eds took my sat-nav and Ipod but what annoys me more is that they cut the Ipod cable that connects to the stereo instead of just unclipping it - £75 for a new one!!

Here is their handy-work:

Mine has one :s dont think its an aftermarket

mines an orange 1.9 Mjet sporting

its quite hi spec though has the sports leather glass roof climate ect
was the alarm an option?

the alarm was not an option when i purchased, mine, as far as i know it don't come with one.

It was an option when I ordered mine.... Was circa £200ish I think and it is operated through the normal central locking key.

Sorry about your window fella. Someone else had there GP broken into and laptop stolen. Don't think an alarm would have made a blind bit of difference tbh, you just need to be more savvy and don't leave anything on display (this habbit has been instilled in me due to working in darlington / car crime capital of the north east next to middlesborough for 3years).

i dont have one and its not an option. Your lucky they only broke the window, they tried to rip the door off my car which cost £700 to replace. It will teach you for leaving you sat nav and ipod in the car! Sorry it happend though, not a nice feeling when scum have been in your car. They would have nicked it even if you had an alarm.

agree with others, an alarm wouldn't of made a difference really, if they wanted the items so bad then they would have got them no matter what. sorry iy happened though mate.

i had my old car broken into, lucky enough they didn't take my passport which was in there! although i did loose my sat nav, crap one at that, god bless house insurance got it sorted and bought me a £400 sat nav...

Although £75 excess to pay for a new window pissed me off...

DTPNorfolk i feel so sorry for you mate, i know how it feels and it's BAD.

lol i my exxess is £500 so think yourself lucky! I paid for the damage rather than lose my no claims. Makes me think insurance is a waste of time.

meta work closely with Fiat to make plug & go alarms for the fiat range...ask for info at your fiat dealer or in aftermarket parts catalogue.

Been fitting meta stuff for 11 years & dont ever remember having a faulty one!

The thing is nothing was on display, everything was hidden from view...

I asked my insurance company about claiming for the stolen goods and i would have to pay a £300 excess and loose two years no claims bonus!!!

That makes me sick, sorry about your window and i hope they don't come back for more . I only hope if somone damaged my property they hid for their sake becasue i know i'd loose control and its not the right thing to do.

I know whn i dead-lock my stilo (click the central locking twice fairly quickly) mine has an alarm, but i dont think it came standard. I've never found the wiring for it though so maybe it did. Do the GP's not have this option?

Sorry to hear about it. I've never had a window smashed but I have had a previous car broken into. Was a MK1 punto parked up over night outside my house and when I come to open it up in the morning the passenger door had been forced and the glove box been rummaged through. Nothing had been taken, so they must have been disturbed (or took a dislike to my choice of music).

I try to leave as little on display as I can in the car. I have a childs booster seat for my friends son in the car, and I even put that in the boot when he's not travelling. The only thing on display is a bit of junk of litter which hasnt reached a bin yet.
