when I ordered them up there wasn't a 3&5 door variant, also when I compared a 3 door lamp to a 5 door lamp, the differences were minimal, and just to do with the glass at the front, the plastic at the back was as far as i could see the same, but the guy behind the desk who had never herd of them before had no trouble in finding them. i didnt give him the part numberat first cos I wanted to see what he cameup with. and what he found was a match for one posted here.

Thank you for the information about the headlamp repair kits. I will certainly have a go at getting one to repair the headlamp unit that I already have with a damaged bracket. It is annoying that given there is so little difference between the 3 and 5 door versions Fiat could not manage to have just one type of headlamp on the stilo. I have surprised several dealers on ebay by asking which version it is that they are selling. The extra complication is that some headlamp units appear to have the fog light built in and some don,t. One dealer has suggested that it is possible to fit the fog lamp unit from a damaged headlamp unit to a new one that does not already have the fog lamp unit fitted. I can't see how this could be done without splitting the front clear cover from the rear black casing. Is this the case? Has anyone managed to do this? Any information would be most welcome as it might help me find suitable units at a reasonable price. Both my headlamp units on a 56 plate multijet multiwagon have lots of small cracks. Fiat don,t have any idea what has caused this and my previous 1.6 multiwagon showed no sign of this.

The reason 3-door and 5-door Stilo's have different headlamps is because the two cars have compleatly different front ends! No pannels are compatible ;)

I've just order some brackets for my Stilo headlamp, so hope they are not different bracket kits.

I doubt the fog is easily retro fitted, due to wiring loom also unless you were to transfer this from one unit to another also.

Jon.

Re: my car creaks at low speed maneuvering

Will a good lube not be the answer? Had also some creaking from the front, lubricated the whole lot with some good quality waterproof grease, seem to have sorted it. But then you did mentioned the crash.............

Re: my car creaks at low speed maneuvering

ok next question, what exactly should i be waxoy'ling???
The springs for certain - especially near bottom where all the grit and rubbish tends to collect - and then apply to all rubber like bushes (and obviously anything looking rusty).

Don't forget it's well worth doing the rears as well.

Re: my car creaks at low speed maneuvering

kool, ok and i take it you use waxyol in a tin and a brush??? cos this spray stuff is just getting in my eyes....
I did spray it when I first started using the stuff (rust was a big thing in those days) but now I just use a brush (something old you don't mind throwing out as nigh impossible to clean afterward).

My can of Waxyoil must be over 25 years old now and I'm still using it (y)
