Hi I’m Cathy from Merseyside
I’ve owned my fiat for 3 years now had no problems until now when driving this morn my warning beep alerted me and my fog lights came on automatically which they never do
I pressed to switch off which they did but wondered why did this happen

The Red Ones at the Rear.. Or White ones under the Headlamps?

Either way.. It's odd you got a Beep

How many miles on the car now?
Any servicing done lately..?

Ok .
The front fog lights might be acting as Cornering lights..
As you turn left.. The left one comes on.. Etc

The Beep.. Maybe one of the bulbs failed?

My 2013 only had a DRL. bulb fail @42k miles

I have them switched off
Both the lights were on when I checked just found it strange

Being the 1st week of "darkness" for UKdrivers

There are a few chances of a bulb.. Or switch. Being not as you last tried it back in March..

Personally.. I would put 5 minutes aside to Slowly click by click

Check what bulbs light when

DRLs
Sidelights
Main Beam
Full beam

Spotlights.. Fog lights. Etc

You might see/ hear an error then..?


One weird thing

IF you lose a Headlight bulb.. The car won't tell you!

But it should scroll a message for all the other bulbs

DRL and numberplate bulbs are the favourites

I cannot offer much more.. But do let us know what you see



DO NOT go to a Fiat garage with this

They may well charge £130, `diagnostics'... The forum has access to this for very little money

My money is on a Dodgy bulb.. Or a switch (mode..) that got changed in the summer

Actually... if it was straight after starting the car.. There is another option..

If it was after midnight and/or wet -id put it down to the"FIAT GREMLIN"- he visits us all from time to time! loves to play tricks like this to worry us!( i think he feeds on it in some way) best course of action is to ignore him then he usually bu**ers off to pick on someone else!
