as the title says i'm going to look at a Mare on wednesday!

yes it is the 2.0 20v!

its silver!

its got some bodywork crash damage can get the panels for £120 so far but thats the wrong colour, i PM'ed river to see how much he wants for them as its the right colour.

its got 80k on the clock

not Tax or MOT, going to get him to MOT it before i buy

right, need a list of things to check/ask, i forgot to ask about the red key so thats going on my list for when i phone tomorrow.

he said its not been used since november, its an interesting story to how he crashed it, it wasnt even his!

apparently, his car was in the garage and he was given this marea, well just before it was due back he took it out in the snow for some fun....and unfortunatly slid into a BMW, now he said for some reason or another he wasnt properly insured on this curtousy car and so instead of getting into trouble for crashing it he bought it off the company and hasnt had time to fix it, obviously he doesnt care as he has his car fixed now, he did say a few times its amazingly fast lol.

really excited about going to see it, and most of all test it out!

Just be wary - depending on the crash damage it might have damage to the shell itself and actually could be bent...................

Good to see you found one. Get it HPI checked first and check he has the V5. Panels could be found in a scrappy for cheap and then sprayed.

You forgot the cambelt - has it had it done? Got a receipt?

I'd say walk away. Mareas are cheap enough not to need to buy a crash damaged car. You'll regret it...

he thinks its been done as it was a good hire car company, he's getting me the FSH for it to prove, has 4 good tyres the guys a 24/7 mechanic so if it does go wrong i'll be phoning his ass and getting him to fix it!

he said he can get the panels in the wrong colout from scrappy for £120 thus why i'm asking river.

i dont really wanna waste £40 on the HPI check, he only wants £400 and if the red keys missing etc i bet i can get him lower, hopfully it is there otherwise its bound to be me that has to reset the ECU lol

remember- dont buy the first one you view, people are always like that and buy the first one they see, just dont, go view lots, even if not in your price range, just to see how the engine feels etc.

but walk away, leave it, it will need work doing most likely, just buy a good one straight out- always works out cheaper in the end.

it kinda is christmas, i am a kid might now be good advise, i know you guys are trying to save me from a disaster but as i said to hellcat i think its going to be one of those situations i'll have to learn by my mistakes, i'll either get really lucky and get a bargin minter or its going to go horribly wrong and i'll have it a few days, either way...

anywho, who knows i might take one look at it and think **** that!

bonnet, headlight, wing i beleive, he only hit the BMW doing about 20 apparently, its ment to just be bodywork nothing structural, apparently the crumple zones i know nothing about them what with owning an uno

I dont think you should buy it, but i think you should go and see it, just to get the experience of going to see a car, viewing it etc
